Engineering Apprenticeships Course Manager

Closing date: 28/04/2017 Salary: £28,890 - £35,112 (The post may attract a market supplement depending on the background of the applicant) Contract type: Permanent

This is a new role for a dynamic engineering apprenticeships course manager. South Downs College wishes to appoint an experienced and talented individual to join a professional, enthusiastic and forward thinking team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of engineering apprenticeship programmes, will be experiences, committed and professional. South Downs College has an excellent track record in delivering Engineering Apprenticeship programmes and the successful applicant will use this as a platform to build on.

The role will include all aspects of managing Engineering Apprenticeships, employer engagement, assessing and teaching as required and the successful applicant will work closely with the cross-college apprenticeship team as well as the engineering curriculum team.

Applicants will have working knowledge of a range of frameworks and standards, minimum of two years assessment practice with an assessor qualification, a recognised teaching qualification, a background of teaching across vocational programmes and supporting industrial experience in mechanical manufacturing engineering.

Travel and Tourism Apprenticeship Assessor

Closing date: 01/05/2017 Salary: Hourly rate £18.07 Contract type: Fixed term

This is a great opportunity for a dynamic, professional individual with relevant vocational qualifications to be part of a team that delivers training and assessment in Travel and Tourism and Visitor Economy industries. This is an exciting role that would suit a person with relevant vocational experience in Travel Consultancy and who has good communication skills and looking to apply those skills in a learning environment. Your duties will include working on both college sites and employer’s premises. You will be a highly self-motivated, energetic and driven individual, encompassing a strong sense of autonomy. You will also possess strong presentation and communication skills and be able to demonstrate achievement of targets. You will be required to work as part of a project team and be able to work with Level 5 learners. The expectation is 8 hours per learner.

Job Description

Nursery Practitioner (Maternity Cover)

Closing date: 08/05/2017 Salary: Actual Salary £8036.90 per annum Contract type: Part time, fixed term (until 31 December)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Nursery practitioner to join our team at our outstanding nursery, Little Faces Nursery, situated in the grounds of South Downs College.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate that they have a good knowledge of the EYFS and a passion for childcare and development, being able to use their own initiative to ensure that the children’s individual needs are met. They must offer the best care and stimulation to ensure that each child reaches their full potential and they must regularly contribute to their key child’s online learning journey. The candidate should also be flexible in their working and be a good team player. They must have good communication and writing skills.

Applicants must hold a level 3 qualification in childcare, have GCSE (grade C or above) in Maths and English and also have a current Paediatric First Aid certificate. They must also have good experience of working with ages 0-4.
