Sport & Public Services

Whether you have a passion for sport, an ability to inspire others through fitness, a love of the outdoors or a desire to serve your country one day, we have a range of courses and learning styles to suit you.

We offer you the chance to get outdoors in a range of exciting activities and expeditions, such as challenge days against other colleges, residential visits and team building days, both in the UK and further afield.

You’ll have the chance to gain a range of qualifications to compliment your main subject and enhance your experience. South Downs College has strong links with employers and sports teams, so you can take advantage of these opportunities and use their facilities, or volunteer at major sporting and outdoors events.

You’ll be able to work in our Sport Injury Clinic and fully-equipped public gym to gain real world experience. We run visits to sporting centres, outside facilities and specialist exhibitions to enable you to develop your knowledge and understanding and liaise with people already in business.

If you’re interested in the Uniformed or Public Services, our staff will use their expertise and know-how to make sure you strike the right balance between practical and academic study to gain entry and serve in the forces and public services.

What are you interested in?

I overcame a couple of barriers by working really hard to get the top grades. My experience was really good, with the course and the lecturers, the residentials and activities, together it was all really good. I had really great teaching support, I could always go to the lecturers and speak to them if I needed to.
