14-16 Schools Links Programme

School Links Programme (14–16 year olds)

South Downs College offers a wide range of programmes designed to suit Key Stage 4 (KS4) learners aged 14-16. Students enrolled on these courses will attend college on a part-time basis and study alongside their GCSEs. Many of these programmes are offered with qualifications that are recognised within KS4 league tables. All students are interviewed prior to their enrolment and some courses may also require a skills test to ensure that the young person is considering the appropriate course for them.

What you can study

Our 14-16 programme is focussed on work-based vocational subjects such as:

  • Animal Care
  • Catering
  • Engineering & Motor Vehicle
  • Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy
  • IT & Digital Media
  • Sport

Where appropriate, we can also offer English & Maths GCSE qualifications alongside the main programme.

Fees

The cost of each programme will be quoted upon application. Those students registered with a school have to be referred by the school, and they will be invoiced. Home schooled students who are not registered with a school are also welcome to make an application. In this instance, the College will claim funding from the government.
