South Downs College would like to congratulate all our AS and A2 students on their fantastic exam results this year. We have once again achieved a 99% pass rate as a College with over 700 A2 candidates.

Meet some of our students below who have picked up their results:

Nadia Shepherd

Previous School: Cams Hill

A level grades achieved: Maths A*; Accounting A*; Economics A; Financial Studies A; Further Maths A

Nadia is going to Surrey University next month to study Maths, she hopes to join the Police Force after graduating.

She says she really enjoyed her time at South Downs, and particularly liked how dedicated the teachers are to their students.

Amy Bailey

Previous School: ALNS

A level grades achieved: Textiles A*; English A; History A

Amy was so excited to pick up her results after checking the UCAS website in the early hours of the morning to find she had been accepted to Bristol University! She so enjoyed studying History at the College that she will be starting a History degree in a few weeks. Amy was thrilled to have done so well and shocked that she had achieved an A* grade!

James Butler

Previous School: Miltoncross

A level grades achieved: Drama A*; Spanish A; English Literature A

James was one of a group of students at the College who achieved an A* grade, he will be off to study English and Spanish at Exeter University now.

After collecting his results he said he was so pleased with the grades and even though he did lots of preparation for his exams he was worried it wouldn’t be enough to get him in to university-after achieving such fantastic grades he had nothing to worry about.

Sam Ellis

Previous School: Purbrook Park

A level grades achieved: Chemistry A; Maths A*; Computing A*; AS Biology A

When Sam arrived at College to collect his results he was waiting to find out if he had got his place at Oxford University but after achieving brilliant grades Sam will now be studying Chemistry at the prestigious university. He had tried to find out his results from UCAS website but it was so busy he had been unable to log on and find out if he had been accepted so it was a nervous wait to collect the results at College. He said his entry interviews and application for Oxford were very challenging but definitely worth all the effort.

Beth Addy

Previous School: Horndean Technology College

A level grades achieved: Law A*; History A*; Biology A*

Beth was shaking as she picked up her results, but was overwhelmed to find she had achieved a truly amazing set of results. Beth is the highest achiever in our A level results this year but when she arrived to collect her exam slips she thought perhaps she had achieved ABB grades.

She will now take a gap year to gain some work experience and travel to Australia next year before heading off to university, potentially Oxford or Cambridge, to study Law.
