Food festival success for South Downs College students
As part of British Food Fortnight, Emsworth Food Festival takes place every September to celebrate the good food and wine produced by local growers and suppliers.
This year, 2nd Year Craft Catering students and Level 3 Pastry & Confectionery students from South Downs College took over the Hermitage Restaurant at The Brookfield Hotel on 30 September to plan, cook and serve a three course lunch for 85 people.
Shannon Bone said: ‘Work experience in prestigious kitchens and restaurants has long been a feature of our courses, helping us students secure jobs in highly regarded eateries around the world.’
Paul Mansfield said: ‘It was an excellent day enjoyed by everyone who took part, following the event two students were offered employment opportunities when they finish their studies’
