Vocational Studies Intermediate & Advanced
These flexible vocational studies programmes will give you the chance to try out a wide range of subjects and give you a chance to boost your skills.
No formal entry requirements.
This course will give you the opportunity to do work experience, community projects and study core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Citizenship, Community & Volunteering and IT. Optional vocational subjects include:
- Motor vehicle studies
- Independent living skills
- Animal care
- Customer services
- Animal Care
You will be taught in groups of approximately 8-14 dependent on options, by experienced staff who are able to support learners with a number of different SEN needs. Additional Learning Support Assistants are also utilised to work with learners on 1-1 or in group situations, subject to EHCP recommendations where appropriate.
All assessment will be coursework based with the exception of Functional Skills English and maths which will include formal tests.
Extra equipment is available if required, subject to an ALS interview.
Laser Award, Certificate or Diploma (various qualifications) plus Functional Skills maths and English, where appropriate
Once successfully completed you may progress to vocational courses at Level 1 or 2 such as sports, public services, motor vehicle studies, animal care, health and social care, art and design, ICT, hair and beauty, catering and engineering.
