Travel & Tourism – City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma

The course is gives an overview of the Travel and Tourism industry, for those interested in pursuing a career within it.

Entry Requirements

Students need a ‘D’ profile from their GCSEs, or a Level 1 certificate from South Downs College. A discussion will take place in an interview to ensure this course is the most appropriate one for you.

Course Content

The course will cover many units, including:

  • Customer service
  • Geography
  • Entertainment
  • Event planning.
How will I be taught?

Industry experienced staff will deliver lessons in different ways, such as class activities, role play and teacher-led information.

How will I be assessed?

There is one 90-minute multiple choice exam, and the rest of the course is assessed via coursework.

Coursework will include role plays, a presentation, the planning of an event and participation in an entertainment activity.

Will I need any extra equipment?

Access to IT would be beneficial.

What qualifications will I get?

Successful students will be awarded a City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism.

What will it allow me to do in the future?

Successful students could progress onto our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Travel and Tourism or Cabin Crew Training,

If appropriate, students may enrol on an apprenticeship or directly into employment.
