Sports Academy and Fitness

This course is ideal for sport, fitness and football fanatics. You will have the opportunity to partake in a variety of different sports activities as you prepare for employment in the sport and fitness sector.

Entry Requirements

Minimum 4 GCSEs at grade D or above including either Mathematics or English

Course Content

This course covers a broad range of subjects including:

  • Fitness for sport and exercise
  • Practical sports performance
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Lifestyle and wellbeing
  • Designing exercise programmes
  • Leading sports activities
  • Running a sports event
  • English and Mathematics
How will I be taught?

Learning will take place both in a classroom environment and practical sessions. You will also be expected to take part in both volunteering and work experience.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed through a range of practical assessments and a portfolio.

What qualifications will I get?

NFCE Level 2 in Sports Academy and Fitness.

What will it allow me to do in the future?

Upon successful completion of this course you are able to progress to a more specialised Level 3 vocational or academic sports course such as a BTEC Diploma in sport. You can also progress into employment in the sports industry as a leisure centre attendant, sports coach or apprenticeship.
