Augmented Reality College Campus
If you came to our October Open Evenings, you may have seen an augmented reality
demonstration featuring a 3D render of the College. In the demo, visitors were given
a marker card, which, when shown to a web cam rendered the college so that it appeared
to float on the card.
We have made this demo available to you to try out for yourself.
All you need to make the player work is a personal computer, a webcam and a printed
marker.
The files that you will need are linked from this page. Download the AR-Media file which contains the College Campus in 3D, the correct player for Windows or Mac, and the printable marker.
Print the marker PDF and install the player software.
For more help with using the player software, see the user guide for your version, available as a PDF below.

Useful Tips
- The marker needs to be seen as a square by the camera. Try not to bend the marker
- We have found that sticking the marker to a piece of card helps to keep it flat
- Try to avoid making the marker look shiny. The camera will not see a square if there is a shine
- Try to keep the black square on the marker visible on screen at all times
- Don't cover any part of the black border with your fingers
- Hit the [W] key to see a wireframe option
- Move close to the camera while still showing the whole marker
- Can you find the Air Cabin?
- Can you see the Climbing Wall?
